Introduction to Prints

These Giclée prints are made on French “Arches” water color paper using British i-lab archival inks. The images are from original photographs made by Peter D’Aprix mainly in the south of France where he and his wife spend several months a year in their house in Provence.

Peter’s work is gracing the rooms in the new wing of Doris Day’s hotel “The Cypress Inn” in Carmel, California which is soon to be seen in “Architectural Digest”. They can also be viewed in the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles at Peter Lang on the fourth floor. His Ilfochrome prints are hung at the “Gallery Sur” in Carmel, CA.

Peter is a graduate of the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design, The American College in Paris and Boston University’s School of Public Communication. Ojai has been his home for over twenty years. He has been a commercial photographer shooting advertising, corporate and editorial photography for over 25 years. This print project is a recent addiction.

Although developed to be long lasting, these inks are U.V. and light sensitive
and will eventually fade over the long term. They must not be subjected to
direct or filtered sun or fading eventually will occur.
It is recommended that U.V. glass
be used for the frame.

The “Archival” prints are printed with Lysom “archival” inks from i-Lab on French "Arches" water color cold pressed paper. Their tests show that under normal office florescent lighting conditions the inks should last a minimum of 32 years before fading starts to occur when printed on French Arches water color paper. Never the less, the prints must not be exposed to direct or filtered sun and should be framed with U.V. filtering glass for the longest and the best extended term life. In addition, these are water based inks and the prints must not be exposed to excessive heat or humidity such as a bathrooms. Prices will have California Sales Tax added at 7.25% unless resale permit number is provided or the purchase is from out of state. All purchases are final.
