And this is the butcher shop where I bought my "bifteak haché" every day. Never did I receive a "bonjour monsieur" in all that time. Now in the provinces and the country, they won't serve you without observing the "politesse" of a "bonjour monsieur". In fact, most shoppers also address the shop as a whole with a "bonjour mesdames - monsieurs". One of the things I love about France.
