David Dick shares a light with Eric Elbot. Eric and I had started smoking in a bistro in the Quartier Latin during the winter doldrums, late January 1965, as we watched Julie McDowell and Connie Aitken puff away. I am not sure either of us really enjoyed sucking in smoke, but the rituals were fun and gave us something to do. Besides, we were cooooooool. And so very adult.
